Bargain Box Grant Guidelines

Guidelines:

1.  Organizations requesting grant consideration must be a non- profit with the ability to furnish a tax-exempt letter or other non-profit status documentation.

2.  Amount of Grant money available will be based on the prior  year's profit. (Amount will be available mid January.)

3.  Any organization with a staff member, volunteer, or director currently serving on the Bargain Box Advisory Board is ineligible from receiving funding from the Bargain Box.

4.  Grant money will be used to fund:

a)      Projects that improve the quality of life for people in need.

b)      Priority will be given to local projects, projects that have not previously received a Bargain Box grant, children's programs, and organizations that stress “empowerment” of individuals/families.

c)      Special projects (such as Crow Reservation, Montana project) will be reviewed by the Advisory Board and a determination made if funding is available.

Grant Timetable:

o   Grant requests must be submitted for consideration by March 1st.

o   If needed, a Grant Review Sub-committee may be established to review all funding requests and present their recommendations to the Bargain Box Advisory Board.

o   Advisory Board will vote on all requests in April and send accepted grants to Church Vestry for final approval.

o   Church of the Servant Vestry will review and approve/disapprove recommendations made by the Board during their May meeting.

o   Grant Awards will be announced in June.
If funding is available after June, grant applications will continue to be accepted.
